Can you use collision data in another function?

Hi,

I'm making a game similar to Agar.io. I've got all of the softbody physics and everything working, I'm just trying to sort out the points system. Basically, when you eat a point, it disappears, but I want it to be "sucked" into the player. So I'm basically just using Vector3.MoveTowards to do this. Now, in the player's collision detection script, I have a collider check which sees if there are any points being eaten by the player. The problem is that it's a void function, so I can't use my movetowards function in there. So I set up an iEnumerable function, taking the collision gameobject as a parameter, and did the movement in there, but it's not working.

So, my question is- how can I get the gameobject from the collision (the point gameobject), and then use that gameobject in my other function, in order to move it towards the player? Thanks in advance.
