Problem with shadows or model?

I have the following problem with one of my models. I've created the chest with Blender, although it seems all the edges of the chest are there, you can see the light passing through them.

Any idea what it can be?

Thank you very much!

EDIT: Model added. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3ELWKyJ3vaOLUkyU0EzcXJ4YU0/view?usp=sharing

EDIT2: Added .fbx file https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3ELWKyJ3vaObktzRUFMZEo0V2c/view?usp=sharing

do you have frames for opening the chest?

The fbx files had 31 doubles. $$anonymous$$aybe these doubles created double edges which let the light pass through the model.

How have you imported the fbx file ? Just drag & drop in the project tab ?

As you can see in the .blend file I created 3 actions, one for each animation. Do you think this can be related to the shadows problem?

Hellium I just drag and dropped the .fbx inside Unity. Is there another way to do that?

You can copy the files from your files explorer, but it's the same as drag & dropping the files.

It's strange that the exported version add vertices like this, I didn't know it. Have you tried to work with the Blend file directly in Unity (drag & drop in the scene) ? Unity will ask Blender to re-export it in fbx normally, give it a try !

Not working Hellium. I've discovered that I really have duplicate edges inside the model. It must be that for sure.

I found the problem.

In the (Skinned Mesh Renderer) component I had the option "Cast Shadows" set to "On". If I set that option to "Two Sided" the problem is solved.
