how is the 50mb apk file size determined

Hi, guys I really, really need your help guys figuring this out. what am trying to ask is that if I imported a 40mbz object, into unity, lets say a house, does that mean my apk file size is going to exceed 40mbz?.because I see some objects on unity store that are above 50mbz,such as a 3rd person controller that at times go upto 60mbz.does it mean with just the controller you have already exceeded the 50mbz apk limit? .. Pliz guyz hlp me out with that because am new to the whole unity 3d operation n apk thing. Thanks alot guys.

Unity always creates its own internal copy of the particular file, which might be much smaller than the original file (eg. with PSD files). But this highly depends on the file type you are using. You can see the actual imported file size when selecting the Asset in your Project hierachy and looking at the Asset preview at the bottom right.

Unity Store assets often contain examples (eg. Scene to show how to use it) which won't be part of the final build, especially with code-only assets (like the 3rd person controller you're talking about).

I would say the best idea is to just export the project as an APK file and check its file size eventually.
