Question by hunter_Abraham · Aug 24, 2015 at 02:39 PM · androidiosiphonewindowsmac

Can I use unity as a portable editor by copying it from my windows computer to use it on a Mac thats in my college?

I'm trying to make games for Iphones but I cant do that on my windows computer. I have Mac in college, I'm trying to work on it while i'm in college. Would there be any problem? with the license. Or would it even run? as the compilers would be .exe not .dmg

If you have Unity installed on your home Windows machine, and your college have Unity licensed and installed on their Mac machines, then you can copy your project from one to the other. It is not possible for you to copy an Windows only app and try to run it on a Mac.

I think "college [has] Unity licensed and installed" is the key here.

$$anonymous$$ost Qs like this (Search "Unity school computer") are about how to run your personal Unity on a school computer. Schools, or any organization, don't like people just installing stuff willy-nilly. There can be legal and virus issues.
