Question by black1ops22 · Sep 06, 2015 at 01:02 AM · animationblenderblender-exportingblender animation

Blender multi piece animations.

This has taken over me for the past few days. Basically in blender I modeled an m4a1 with the grip, the stock, the scope and the silencer being different meshes. I then took a make human rig and removed everything but the arms. I imported them all into one .blend file using shift + f1. I parented everything but the magazine the m4. Then i parented the gun to the right hand and the mag to the left. I made some animations and imported to unity 5. I set up everything but when i dragged the .blend to my character model, it had all the parts separate from the body across the world. Help!

If you need pics just ask.

You had a character model in Unity already? Just without the arms?

Your probably would have better results if you do the parenting part in Unity ins$$anonymous$$d of doing it in Blender. $$anonymous$$eep your anims and try to re-do your parenting inside the engine.

Otherwise, I think it comes from local/global references but I may need some pics to tell more about it.

Additionnal tip : if your gun parts don't need to move one from each others (but I guess you want the silencer and/or the scope to be additionnal so this tip might not be usefull), you can also select all the non-moving objects in blender and hit "Ctrl+J" to join the meshes as a unique object.
