Unity Crashes on Startup

Unity keeps crashing for me on startup, just like in this video here: https://youtu.be/3lin1v2E58s

it then gives me the option to debug or close program. can anyone help me out with this please? there have been no conclusive answers on similar threads to these, I am running Windows 8.1
