Physics not working as expected for moving platform

Hello, i am using the default assets, and making a moving platform which "hold" the main character (ethan :))

I am following this approach for the moving platform: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfwmRYQRsbg, creating a son for the platform with a collider and attaching the player to the platform when triggering.

What i dont understand is why the ground detection fails once the character is on the platform. Ethan starts like flying and it is even possible to change its scale!!. I looked on the code and since it is using a Raycast to detect the floor, i have set a layer "Ignore Raycast" to the moving platform (to the son, not the main platform), but the behaviour is still the same.

What "variable" i am not taking into account?

OK, you can do the same effect using the animations in unity.That's what I did.
