does choosing new android sdk provide better performance ?

hello, what is the best android sdk to choose. - i know that older versions provide more user reach -

  • (in fact, you can see the android version market share here: http://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/index.html

  • but does newer versions of android sdk provide higher performance for unity applications ?

i dnt think so the new sdk can change the performance for unity applications, newer versions sdk allow u to build in the newer version android, like kitkat, i think...

Based on my experience I don't think so. It's not just Unity application any other Android app doesn't get performance boost just by declaring random sdk-api number. since Unity Apps run on OpenGL ES you can ask Unity to run on a specific GLES api if you are using higher openGL ES shaders. It all comes down how you optimize your Unity Game-code.
