My scene won't show up on unity remote 4 (android)

I recently got a new phone which i have installed unity remote 4 on. and when I play my scene in the editor, it wont show up on my phone. Yes, I do have it open and plugged in with usb debugging on and the app open as well as having the entire android sdk installed. am i missing something? please help

my phone is a blu life x8 running android 5.1

Try connecting the phone before starting unity and check if Edit->Project Settings->Editor->Unity Remote->Device is set correctly.
