Object reference not set to an instance of an object

ok, so i have a problem with my script...

i was trying to make a key that would open a door once you take it... so i made the door script, that would have been able to be opened once the "Locked" became true. locked gets true once we pick up the key so i made a script (the key script) that once you press the E button in the key trigger, it changes the Locked from true to false in the door script.. i wanted to do that by using the GetComponent<>(); but it gave me this error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

what did i do wrong?

Key Script(which changes the locked from true to false)

 public bool intrigger = false;
 public bool showgui = false;

 public GameObject DoorTrigger;

 private Door_Unlockable_Function doorscript;

 public const string PLAYER_ID = "Player";

 void Start(){
     doorscript = DoorTrigger.GetComponent<Door_Unlockable_Function> ();
 }

 void OnTriggerEnter(Collider other){
     if (other.tag == PLAYER_ID) {
         intrigger = true;
         showgui = true;
     }
 }
 void OnTriggerExit(Collider other){
     if (other.tag == PLAYER_ID) {
         intrigger = false;
         showgui = false;
     }
 }

 void Update(){
     if (intrigger == true) {
         if (Input.GetKeyDown (KeyCode.E)) {
             doorscript.locked = false;
         }
     }

 }

}
