WEBGL NIGHTMARES: Cursor lock and broken shaders

Hi. I'm making a virtual gallery for paintings that has been successfully built for mac and pc, but I'd mainly like to have it be available to play on my website, so I tried WebGL.... And panic ensues. Two major things make the gallery unplayable (in firefox): the standard asset shader "stained glass/bump" is opaque black, but will sometimes flicker to its normal color/opacity. Second, the cursor refuses to work. I've read all the threads regarding this, but it seems like such a basic, necessary thing to be able to use a locked, invisible cursor. it works as it should on other platforms. Any solutions or work arounds? Thanks!!
