Detect when object is inverted

I have a vehicle in a scene and it can be rolled over in some cases (desired). I want to detect if the vehicle has overturned. When the vehicle overturns in the game, I can see the values in the inspector for transform showing the rotation.z is 180. However, the script I wrote sees transform.rotation.z as 0.1845327. Why are these different?

Also would happily take suggestions on a better function to detect this:

 public bool DoInversionCheck()
 {
     var rotation = transform.rotation.z;
     if (rotation < 0)
     {
         rotation *= -1;
     }
     while (rotation > 365)
     {
         rotation -= 365;
     }
     print(string.Format("rotation : {0}", rotation));
     if (rotation > 85)
     {
         return true;
     }
     return false;
 }

Because what you see in the inspector are the Euler angles and transform.rotation is a Quaternion. Instead if transform.rotation.z try doing transform.rotation.eulerAngles.z and you will get the same value as in the inspector. Hope this helps.
