problem with going from idle animation to playing the attack animation instantly

So i have my animator set up with an idle animation and an attack animation. However, when I press the attack button, isAttacking(my bool for when to play the attack animation) waits until the idle animation is finsished playing before initiating my attack animation. Hope that makes sense :P thanks in advance

Hey :)

Sounds like you'll want to look into the Transition Properties of the Transition between your idle animation and your attack animation: http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/class-Transition.html

Try disabling Has Exit Time, or reducing Exit Time. You could also experiment with Transition Duration and the other properties to get the right transition you're looking for :)
