I don't understand your question. What is the problem?

The page explains that you can access the gameObject that the component is attached to.

You need to write a script with a reference to the Character Controller:

     public CharacterController cc;

     void Start() {
         cc.gameObject.name = "new name";
     }

if the script is already on the same gameObject that has the Character Controller, then you can simply:

     void Start() {
         gameObject.name = "new name";
     }

Thank you but can I also write : public CharacterController cc; public GameObject player;

      void  Start () {
            player = cc.gameObject ;
       }
