Question by tyke132 · Feb 08, 2016 at 11:06 AM · c#x-axis

How to make a spawner shoot across the x-axis

So, I am new to unity, as well as c# but i have been able to produce spawner which shoots along the y-axis in my 2D game. Although with this, I am still unable to shoot objects across the X-axis due to the way that I have structured my code. If i make a change in the vector positioning it will just move the spawner and not the cloned objects that are shooting out of it. Any help would be appreciated.

 using UnityEngine;
 using System.Collections;

 public class SideSpawner : MonoBehaviour {
     public float SpawnRate = 1;

     public GameObject enemy;

     public float upbound = 5;
     public float downbound = -5;

     // Use this for initialization
     void Start () {
         InvokeRepeating("SpawnEnemy", 1, SpawnRate);
     }

     // Update is called once per frame
     void Update () {

     }

     void SpawnEnemy()
     {
         //a clone of the enemy prefab
         GameObject enemyClone;
         //Spawns clone at the position of the spawner
         enemyClone = Instantiate(enemy, this.transform.position, this.transform.rotation) as GameObject;

         // moves the spawner to a random place limited by the boundaries
         float y = Random.Range(downbound, upbound);
         transform.position = new Vector3(this.transform.position.x, y, 0);

     }
 }

please post the actual code, not a screenshot of it... read the unity answers user guide/faq if you're unsure how to.
