Issues with Unity Editor 5.3.2f1 on laptop

I am having troubles with the current version of Unity that only seems to appear only on my current new laptop. The problem doesn't appear on the older laptop I have which I don't use due to it's older graphics card and dual core processor. This first image happens when I click on the game tab and switch back to the scene tab, and also whenever I open a window like the asset store https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=E315DD8E289E4EEA!15174&authkey=!ACWCc01IdusPJIM&v=3⁢hint=photo%2cpng

Clicking on the add component button and scrolling through produces this second image https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=E315DD8E289E4EEA!15175&authkey=!ADerVMeqeu6htso&v=3⁢hint=photo%2cpng

If a submenu is clicked on in it, nothing is view-able and I have to memorize the item order https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=E315DD8E289E4EEA!15176&authkey=!AJo-dNuUP5IumGQ&v=3⁢hint=photo%2cpng

The problem has persisted over two reinstalls, the second of which I went through the ProgramData, and every user's AppData folders, deleting anything that was related to Unity that remained after the uninstall.

A quick look at the specs of the laptop:
Asus ROG G752VT
Intel Core i7 6700HQ @ 2.6Ghz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M 3GB - latest driver
16GB DDR4
Windows 10 Home x64 build 1511

I also have this issue, did you find a solution?

I was having this issue with a similarly spec'd laptop and these problems stopped after I disabled a large portion of the bloatware that runs on start up. I would advise trying the same.

add -force-d3d9 to the unity shortcut. it solved this problem for me. (but force dx9 mode so no dx11 games)

(i had the strange colored rect on a msi i7 gtx 960m, and the text was blurry on a alienware x51 gtx 970 )
