How to cut the leg / arm of a character

Hi, I making a game where I want my player body to be able to "lost" some members when these it an axe or something like this... I don't want any code help or something I just want some help for have the good approach. I want to make my player body from blender. I found a game wich where the player do what I want to make : ben and ed (trailer), ben and ed (gameplay). Thx for your help.

Take a look at the free Zombie model on the asset store. Building the character mesh out of separate objects like that is probably the best solution.

I think it is better to make these separate pieces of your character and then assemble them in one game object. This will help you to remove these specific parts of the character when you want to remove them (just by disabling them in the hierarchy). Hope this is of some help to you !!

The assets store also has a t least one body part system.

Disabling or just unparenting the body parts, which would make them fall apart :)

I tried this once and the limb disappeared due to the mesh being skinned as a whole.

Oh and another time it just went Stretch Armstrong on me.

So yes, the answer was to make them separate objects and skin them individually. This was Key when making a 12-armed Tentacle beast.
