How do I have my players stats on the HUD?

I have a status indicator with a health bar and text attached to my player, however it follows the player. I would like to have it in the HUD display along with my score and lives. The only problem is, is that the script required that the status indicator has to be attached to the player.

If I put it outside of the player the status indicator does not function when I respawn
