OnTriggerExit Doesn't Work(Kinda)

Here is the truth. The OnTriggerExit function kind of works. In my game, I am making a space shooter game where there is a boundary. The boundary is a big cube that fills the game area. Whenever, shots leave the boundary, they are destroyed. When I test the game, everything works fine. The shots get deleted when they leave. However, when I manually edit the scene view by inserting the shot prefab, it does not destroy itself when it leaves the boundary. Is this a bug by Unity or is it just me?

 void OnTriggerExit(Collider other)
 {
     // Destroy everything that leaves the trigger
