Question by JohnnyD · May 18, 2011 at 11:16 PM · collisioncubeslopeslide

Simple sliding sled downward Movement

Basicly i started this simple sled game im makin out with just cubes it's a giant slide at one angle or many angles or many slides and angles etc. Ok basicly your FPS charector spawns with the sled (that he is standing and walking on the whole time) in the air and hits collides with the beggining of the slope or hill but every time the charector and the sled land onto the slope either i end up behind the sled on the ice or in front of it on the ice and just keep falling by my self on the obstacle course. And the obstacle of the game is to NOT fall off of the sled cube. I want to know more of yallz opinions to coming about to the "staying on the sled" part that im having so much trouble with. And i made the simple cube sled a rigid body in the beggining. Or atleast can somebody experiment with the idea and write what you find out yourself about rigid bodies pulling you with the down a hill-even tho i just sum'd it up-plz and big Thanks -Johnny D

You could attach the character to the sled with a Fixed Joint. Or check for collisions and its corresponding magnitude to toss the character off the sled:

 function OnCollisionEnter(collision : Collision) {
 if (collision.relativeVelocity.magnitude > 10)..
 }
