Reading .DAT file

Hello, I wanted to ask you if it is possible to read the text contained in a .DAT file.

I looked at the documentation and it seems that t$$anonymous$$s extension is not supported http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/class-TextAsset.html

Basically what I need to do is reading all the numbers contained in t$$anonymous$$s .DAT file and use them in my application. Any help is really appreciated! Thanks.
