Asset Store Declined

I submitted an asset to the store. It was declined. Bummer, but ok.

However, I received NO email notifying me that it was declined. I had the impression from Unity's guides, that they would contact a seller with feedback, whether it was suggesting an alternate price, or a missing requirement, or even just explaining why something was declined. I'm really annoyed that not only did I not get any feedback, I wasn't even notified it was declined in the first place. What the hell?

If what I built wasn't "good enough" (hard to believe given some of the crap I've seen on the store), that's fine. Tell me. Tell me why would be even better, but at least tell me.

Is there any course of action I can take to follow up to find out why? If it's possible to "fix" whatever is wrong, then I'd like to do that. If it will never be accepted for some reason, I'd like to know that too.

Honestly, I've never been more disgusted with how a service has treated it's contributors.

This area is for questions about the Unity Answers site. I would suggest taking this to the forums.

Would you mind clarifying what you mean by "area"? I simply posted a question by clicking "Ask A Question". I didn't (knowingly) put my question in any area / category / etc.

If you don't mind elaborating, I'll be happy to take steps to avoid making the same mistake in the future.

The area (or Space I guess) is listed at the top - this is $$anonymous$$ETA, which is for discussions about the Unity Answers site. You can select the space using the towards the upper right. The Default space is where you generally want to ask questions. However your question would best be asked over the forums (link on the upper left) since it isn't really programming related and is more of a discussion type of question.

If you happened to be viewing this space when asking your question then it would default to here I assume - or it could be a bug in the site or whatever.

That does sound odd that you didn't receive an e-mail. I will ping the Asset Store $$anonymous$$m and see if there was a hiccup in the system in June.

Edit: I looked up the e-mails that were sent to you (one for being declined, and the other for being accepted.) It could be that the system does not like certain characters in the e-mail address, but I am still investigating what was the cause.

However, can confirm the e-mails were sent, just not received for some reason.

I met exact same experience with asset store submission.

I can't believe even after 3 years from this, still Unity act exactly same way like this.

They even don't sent me a email for reason of declining.

@MadRobot Try submitting an asset to the Asset Store again. If it accepts, then you're good. If it declines, check your email to see if they sent you one. And check if it is same email you put in when you created an account. Also check your spam and trash box on your email. If they didn't send you one, I would suggest contacting an administrator and tell them that you didn't receive and email. Hope that helps!

But by "administrator," try to look for an email associated with the Asset Store. UnityAnswers, as DaveC points out, is just a user-run forum, and isn't involved with the Asset store at all.

My Asset Store was Declined and i don't known the reason ? I try a new time the 1 August and i received a new decline response the 2 August ??? And no other response or details.

Thanks very much for your submission to the Asset Store.

????? has been declined.

We've reviewed the submission and consistent with the criteria considered in our approval process, we have chosen not to publish this asset. However, we greatly appreciate the time and effort spent in preparing your submission.

Kind regards,

The Asset Store Team

It's starting to make me angry... What is the reason????????

It's a form rejection letter. Writers get these all the time, no big deal. They could mean a lot of things, but, they almost always mean they aren't interested. If they were, they would have asked you to fix something.

In general: they could be thinking "come back when you get better" but don't want to offend you. You might have skipped so many submission guidelines they think you're a lost cause. They may have better assets of the same type and don't want to get into a discussion about that. They could suspect some of it is stolen and don't want to deal with it.

I'd have someone you know look at it, read the rules, look at similar stuff on the store. They'll probably be able to say what a stranger couldn't.
