Question by dudedude123 · Jul 14, 2016 at 04:36 AM · colliderparticles

How do I use the collider to extiinguish the fire?

I wanted to use the collider below to put out the fire with the water particle

alt text

I also used this code to get the water to put the fire out

 using UnityEngine;
 using System.Collections;

 public class Water : MonoBehaviour {

     public float fireRateReduction;
     public float sparksExtraReduction;

     private float heightAboveFloor;
     private ParticleCollisionEvent[][] collisionEvents;
     public ParticleSystem[] water;
     private GameObject floor;
     private Fire fire;
     private float lookSensitivity;
     private GameObject ball;

     public float yRotation;

     void Awake ()
     {
         ball = GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("Fireball");
         fire = ball.GetComponent<Fire>();
         water = GetComponentsInChildren<ParticleSystem>();
     }

     void Start ()
     {
         heightAboveFloor = transform.position.y;
         collisionEvents = new ParticleCollisionEvent[water.Length][];
     }

     void OnParticleCollision(GameObject other)
     {
         if (other.tag == "FireBall")
         {
             for (int i = 0; i < collisionEvents.Length; i++)
             {
                 collisionEvents[i] = new ParticleCollisionEvent[water[i].GetSafeCollisionEventSize()];
             }

             for (int i = 0; i < collisionEvents.Length; i++)
             {
                 water[i].GetCollisionEvents(gameObject, collisionEvents[i]);
             }

             for (int i = 0; i < collisionEvents.Length; i++)
             {
                 for (int j = 0; j < collisionEvents[i].Length; j++)
                 {
                     foreach (ParticleHelper ph in fire.particles)
                     {
                         if (ph.varyAlpha)
                             ph.DecreaseAlpha();
                         if (ph.varyEmission)
                             ph.DecreaseEmission();
                         if (ph.varyIntensity)
                             ph.DecreaseIntensity();
                         if (ph.varyRange)
                             ph.DecreaseRange();
                     }
                 }
             }
         }
     }

     void Update ()
     {
         if (Input.GetButtonDown("Fire1"))
         {
             Ray ray = Camera.main.ScreenPointToRay (Input.mousePosition);
             RaycastHit[] hits;

             hits = Physics.RaycastAll (ray);

         }
         yRotation -= Input.GetAxis("Mouse Y") * lookSensitivity;

         yRotation = Mathf.Clamp(yRotation, -90, 90);
     }

 }

I also activated the water collider

How do I use the water to reduce the fire like in the particle callback scene?
