How to access current image from Camera Game Object?

I am using Unity to create a robot simulator. One of the sensors the robot has is a camera. I have modelled this in Unity by attaching a Camera Game Object to the robot body. Now, I need to access the image from this camera so that it can be sent as sensor feedback to the control algorithm. In brief, I need a way to access the image from the Camera Game Object and store it in a variable. Thanks
