make good way to call function from update

Well here is a script where i try to add an effect to game that makes player see how score is added.... There is only one way how to add to real score - using tempScore which is temporary score where all numbers are stored if an event has happened.

My question: is there a way to make this work with better performance and as a better visual effect for potencial player?

i dont really get what your trying to do, if you can explain more maybe i can help you out ;)

score - variable, where overall score is stored tempScore- variable, which is temporary and is slowly subtracting and adding to score variable.

The meaning of this is to provide info for player that he has just received score (tempScore) which is slowly adding to overall score...

If tempScore is >0, you launch AddScore() every frame. Make sure you call it only once. For example by storing a boolean flag: In Update(), instead of "AddScore()", use:

 if(!scoringIsActive)
     AddScore();

And in AddScore():

 function AddScore()
 {
     scoringIsActive=true;
     [your AddScore()-code (=the while-loop)]
     scoringIsActive=false;
 }

i had something similar to this algorithm, but it didnt work as i wanted it to work..

This is a better way to do this!
