Android game crashes on some devices

Hello,

I have a weird issue, my game crashes on some devices. The vast majority seem to be fine, but it crashes on Galaxy S3 and Xperia E4, for example. It loads the starting, main menu scene normally, but pressing play (loading the next scene) results in the game exiting, no crash messages, just an exit.

How about checking the logcat of those devices and find out what causes the error. After that you will have some sort of input for your search. Else i can't think of anything that could cause the error when just loading scenes.

have you tried selecting the lowest of the $$anonymous$$imum API level required from the player settings.

I have exactly the same behaviour with my app. Crashes without any error and no logcat stacktrace. App has just died on switching/loading scene. Only on Galaxy S3 at this time.

On Unity 5.3 and 5.4 same behaviour. Can´t figure it out... kinda frustrating.

any ideas would be awesome!

Yes, I've actually fixed it. It was a memory heap issue indeed. Seems I had too many high res textures (2048x2048 or 1024x1024), so I just compressed many of them, making some compromises. Although my game is just around 20 mb in size, the textures alone were around 130 mb in RA$$anonymous$$. I managed to lower that to around 60 mb.

$$anonymous$$mm... I don't know. I compressed all of my texture. I think I made all the optimizations :\ I don't know how to figure it out. I don't have this problem with all the Windows Phone devices. It seems that the problem is just for the majority of the Huawei Phones.

I updated also Unity to the latest 5.4.2, but the problem is still the same.

Anyway, I have some textures with 1024px but the size is ridicolous.... it is something like 10kb :\

Well, 130 was too much for me. Try compressing it all a lot, a test version, just to see if it works on those phones you had issues with. At least you'll know that's the problem.
