Is there a way to get access to the mesh geometry in a TextMesh?

I'd like to apply lighting to a TextMesh and for t$$anonymous$$s to work I need the mesh to have normals.

Is there a way to get access to the underlying mesh geometry of a TextMesh and add normals in a script?

no because a MeshText does not have any MeshFilter.
