How to get "Shaded Wireframe" view in Game View with equivalent shader

Hey ya'll,

I've got a project where the mesh updates every frame with some crazy distortion effects, and we want to add outlines to our shader that reflect this. We're using a plugin that plays back the mesh dynamically, and I've had a really hard time manipulating the shader with any of the currently existing wireframe-on-surface-shader setups.

The "Shaded Wireframe" view in the editor is basically exactly what we want. So it's been frustrating, because I can show the client this thing in the editor view, but I cannot reproduce in the game view.

• How might be Unity doing this internally? Is there a way to just grab and use that shader/image effect/etc?

• Is there a good equivalent that will work on a mesh that's being updated every frame? It's not skinned or animated – it's being provided by a plugin, kind of like an OBJ sequence.

Any help much appreciated!

What's your target platform? $$anonymous$$y gut feeling is that this shouldn't be too hard to achieve with a geometry shader, but that would require DX11. Otherwise, have you tried an asset like https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/18794 which claims to be able to do what you want?
