Question by Kester_DDM · Oct 04, 2016 at 03:05 AM · unity 5

Is there a way to disable and enable a trigger on a collider inside a script ?

I have been trying to enable a trigger on an gameobject by using collider.isTrigger = true but it doesn't seem to exist and I can't find any information on how I am supposed to do that now... (The gameobject in question is procedurally generated so being able to do it in the script rather than the editor is a must), thanks guys.

Collider.isTrigger = true should work, it seems that there is something wrong with your code ... is it possible to post the code, we just need that portion of code where you are fetching collider of gameobject and where you are changing it to a Trigger

OP seems to be correct. Chances are it has something to do with the update.

If your collider is MeshCollider, you can not do this from the script. I had similar problem. On prefab trigger works (convex only), from script - doesn't.

Seems that Collider.istrigger has be deprecated in the current version. Try GetComponent<Collider>().isTrigger = false; and see if it works my dude.

Or else try enable/disable collider. For eg: GetComponent().enabled = true/false; if you really do not need any collider on gameobject.
