Changing camera follow target with button component? And using right player health for wave manager.

Hi, so maybe I am being a complete nut trying to do it this way.

I want to create a main menu with 4 different characters sitting around, then on a separate canvas there will be 4 buttons each representing a class and within them I would like to use a button component to enable the player movement that links to that respective class and set the camera follow target.

So once the player selects the class, the camera then follows that class and the player can choose a level via walking up to a vehicle and hitting X. Level select and such is sorted its just getting different classes working with switching and working correctly when loading in.

With loading in my plan was to use Object.DontDestoryOnLoad but the next issue is that I have the wave manager that links to the players HP script.

My player has a set tag and layer that is required for AI so I am not sure if that is a downfall but any help on what direction I should go would be appreciated or any tips on what I should rather be doing.
