How to get value when trigger

I've been stuck on this problem for 2 days now, i know how to pass a int value from 1 c# script to another, but what i want is that when my player picks up the object (which i already did) the public value i assigned to the object will pass it to the player. like when i pick up object A with a value of 2, it will pass to the player, then the player will have a IF statement that will check what value was passed, if it's 1, do this; if it's 2, then do this. I can do that using FindWithTag but it will only get 1 value from the object, i have approx 15 objects that can be picked and should pass a value to the player. but i can't seem to do that. can someone help me??
