mesh deforming when animation added

Hi everyone, I exported a character to Unity from Max. It is rigged with biped with bone affect limit of 4 (in Max and in Unity). I added a new animation controller to the character with only one animation (a pose with one keyframe). When I press play, the mesh deforms a bit (some vertices are not in place). Also, the thumbs are not animated. But when I add the pose itself to the scene it's not deformed and the thumbs are fine. Any one has an idea for a solution?
