What should be the max vertex number of a building in a large city scene? (For mobile dev)

Hello, I am trying to make a scene of large city. I am using vertex color technique , so I don't use normal map for details.

What should ne the maximum vertex size of my buildings. Approximetly I will use 250 hundred buildings.

Does 250 Hundred = 25,000 buildings?

Really it depends... can you see them all at once? Are you at street level and only see a few blocks? It's a little like asking how long is a piece of string. Also are you targetting new phones? or old as well? You can LOD... The best solution is to setup a test scene and try it out yourself with different poly counts in your expected camera/game setup.

There really is no right answer to this, since there are so many other factors to consider. Does "mobile" mean a first generation iPad? Or the latest oct-core Android? How many buildings are actually visible? Are they being lit? The only answer is for you to test on your target device.
