Adding lens flare to sun

I have been reading about Lens Flare and all that effect that you can reproduce, but i didn't found anything referencing to the sun. How can i add a flare effect to the sun?

Is it even possible to do such thing? I hope so, because in real life AND in most games actually this effect can only been seen if you are looking at the sun, and i can't just make a light and attach it to the sun as a children, because the sun isn't a gameobject. So, how would i do that, if possible?
