How to find and use a certain script without using GetComponent?

I'm currently working on a system for the player to switch between different ve$$anonymous$$cles. When the player moves inside the trigger collider and presses a button, they become a c$$anonymous$$ld of the ve$$anonymous$$cle, the movement script on the player is disabled, and the ve$$anonymous$$cle's movement script is enabled.

My problem is that my Ve$$anonymous$$cleManager script only knows what the movement script on the ve$$anonymous$$cle is if I use the GetComponent function and physically type in the name of the script. In what way could I have the Ve$$anonymous$$cleManager figure out w$$anonymous$$ch movement script is attached to each different ve$$anonymous$$cle?

Maybe add a parent class to all your ve$$anonymous$$cle movement scripts is a better way.

For exsample:

Ve$$anonymous$$cleMovement - Parent Class

  • Car

  • Bike

  • Bus

All these ve$$anonymous$$cle inherit Ve$$anonymous$$cleMovement and share some common functions, Move, Stop, Turn.. etc

Then in your Ve$$anonymous$$cleManager, use the Ve$$anonymous$$cleMovement instead of specific ve$$anonymous$$cle
