RootMotion without animation, displacement calculation from rotations in motion capture.

Hello there,

we want to use a motion capture system that we apply to a model derived from a Mixamo model. We added GameObjects in between the bones, so we can't use the standard avatar of the model for animations. Besides, the model is completely controlled by a motion capture system on runtime (standalone too, not only editor). We now would like to displace according to its movements, similar to the RootMotion system of Mecanim. That means, if someone walks around with the mocap system, the 3D model in Unity should walk around = change its position, too.

My first idea is to manually create an animation at runtime key by key and then use RootMotion. But therefore, we would need to create an avatar first by script, and it looks to me like a huge overhead just for the displacement of a model. We would need an animator controller and stuff like that without actually using it for its purpose.

My second idea is asking this forum about a good idea, script, asset, whatever, which would enable the calculation of the displacement properly.
