Add Force in direction

I'm very new to Unity, and I'm attempting to build a space shooter game. Recently found out how to instantiate and fire objects.

Currently, I'm using shell = Instantiate(EnemyBullet, new Vector3(transform.position.x, transform.position.y, transform.position.z), Quaternion.Euler(0,0,0)); to create a bullet, and shell.GetComponent<Rigidbody2D>().AddForce(transform.up * 10000); to fire it.

The issue is with AddForce.

Transform.up will shoot the bullet along the green axis, and Transform.right will shoot it along the red axis, but I want to shoot the bullet at a 45 degree angle.

I've seen many other answers to questions similar to mine, but none of them have offered me the solution I need.

Is there a simple way to accomplish this?

Note: I've managed to fire a bullet at an angle according to the player's location, but that required me to use the Transform properties of the player. I want to be able to fire the bullet at 45 degrees from any object I need it to fire from without needing the position of any object.
