Problem with four xbox controllers.

So our game is for 1-4 players, and you can choose between 4 different keyboard layouts and 4 controllers. When we use 3-4 controllers, some of them do not work. So far we have tried different combinations of xbox 360, xbox one and logitech gamepads. The conflicts mostly happen when we have both Xbox and Logitech pads connected. Is there a solution to get different gamepads working at the same time? I'm 99% sure the problem isn't in the code, as playing with 4 keyboard players works. I believe the xbox and logitech drivers are all saying "our first controller is controller 1" and that causes the game to read wrong controller or none at all. Anybody had similar problems?
