Custom Object instead of plane in Partical Effects

I am new!, so go easy on me!:)

When you look closely at the particals being generated from the partical system they are actually planes with textures that turn toward the active camera as the camera moves

is it posiable to replace the generating partical planes with some thing else like triagle or cubes?

i want to create an "Anomaly" Portale from the TV Series "Primval" broadcast in UK that has to made of 3 part that are not planes! but 3D trangles focusing on the center extending in shpere like pattern

they don;t have to interact or trigger i have that part cover any help would be appriciated thank you!!

You can't use 3D objects in the regular Unity particle system, but the textures can be rotated and stretched to give some effect similar to the Primeval portal. Basically you must create a particle system, then adjust some parameters:

Ellipsoid Particle Emitter

Min Size: 0.3
Max Size: 0.5
Min Energy: 3
Max Energy: 4
...
Tangent Velocity: X=0.4 Y=0.4 Z=0.4
...
Random Rotation: checked
...
Elipsoid: X=6 Y=6 Z=6
Min Emitter Range: 1

Particle Animator

World Rotation Axis: X=0.5 Y=0.5 Z=0.5

Particle Renderer

Stretch Particles: Stretched

This is just a first setting. You should also try other materials in the Particle Renderer, creating materials with specific textures like triangles or whatever you want. And, the most important, read the docs about particle emitters:
