Question by N-Dream-AG · May 09, 2017 at 08:42 AM · asset storestatisticspublisher

Is there any way for an asset store publisher to see total free downloads?

If I want to know how many people in total have downloaded the free asset that we offer, am I correct to assume that the only way to find that number is to go through each month and add it up manually?

It seems incredibly impractical that the asset store publisher site doesn't offer any better insight into numbers of downloads, particularly since loading this simple bit of data takes about 20 seconds to load, making it rather tedious to retrieve the data.

Am I missing something?

I am with you on this one. $$anonymous$$y take on this is that for the younger generation, making something correctly, and making it practical, is less important than trying to be a rockstar. Just the other day i had to release an editor extension because their enum popups are slow as fuck and become inpractical as soon as you pass the 20 entries limit. So i sat down, remembered how we were progra$$anonymous$$g in the 90s with machines that had 8$$anonymous$$Bytes of ram and came with something practical that handle int.$$anonymous$$axValue entries and is fast even on our 20 years old machines. They have numbers. They have access to the Unity engine code. So what's happening ? Is it because practical things do not have shaders, do not make noises with flashy colors and explosions, that it does not entice the youngs to be interested in what they are doing ? Interesting question... But i have to go back to the screen where they now force me to use the 2FA, and their verification codes that seems to systematically get lost somewhere on skull island. $$anonymous$$aybe i will receive one day a postcard from these verification codes... Unless i have to receive a verification code to read the postcard.

I feel you...

Unity has a problem for years now, that they can't bring themselves to solve: They don't listen to their users.

Until that's gonna change, problems or inconvenients like this would continue to exist.
