Question by Dunkelheit · May 17, 2017 at 12:36 AM · guieditoreditor window

Force strickly the size of BeginVertical or BeginHorizontal

I'm trying to delegate two areas side by side inside in an`EditorGUILayout.BeginHorizontal`, those areas are delimited by two EditorGUILayout.BeginVertical and are splitted equally in the screen. I don't want that, I would like something about 30%-40% of the EditorWindow width for the first BeginVertical and the remaining width for the last one part. I've tried some different ways to accomplish that but no a single chance to make it works properly.

All the time the EditorWindow renders both areas equally in the middle.

My code:

 private void OnGUI()
 {
     EditorGUILayout.BeginHorizontal();
     {
         EditorGUIUtility.labelWidth = 80;
         EditorGUIUtility.fieldWidth = 40;

         //~call settings - I would like 35%-40% OF THE EDITORWINDOW WIDTH
         settingsRect = EditorGUILayout.BeginVertical(GUILayout.ExpandWidth(false), GUILayout.MaxWidth(200));
         {
             Settings();
         }
         EditorGUILayout.EndVertical();

         //~call preview - I would like 55%-60% OF THE EDITORWINDOW WIDTH
         previewRect = EditorGUILayout.BeginVertical(GUILayout.ExpandWidth(true), GUILayout.Width(600));
         {
             Preview();
         }
         EditorGUILayout.EndVertical();
     }

Thanks in advance!
