The dog from the Lab steamVR implementing the fetchplay functionality

hi i have a question i want to know if theres a way to implement the functionality of the dog fetching the bone and bringing it back to you Like in the SteamVR Lab

I want to make something simular with a ball and a dog

the dog needs to follow me and bring back the ball when i throw it somewhere

appreaciate the help
