Question by IIRawsomeII · Aug 15, 2017 at 02:46 AM · errordeletedmonobehavior

(Failed To Unpersist: Monobehaviour ID: number FileID: number) and Destroying My Work!?!

Hello
I need an answer
Occasionally I get an error saying:
failed To Unpersist: Monobehaviour ID: number FileID: number
and the infuriating part:
The Gameobject i presume to be related to it gets deleted!!!
This is setting me back and soon it might delete something I spent weeks on!
I have no idea what causes this. The only thing I know is that Prefabs aren't affected
I would like an informative reply please, Thanks.

I've been having this issue a lot lately as well. It's pretty frustrating and scary!

It turn's out that selecting before going into play mode is a one-way sentence to the Trash.
That's annoying but I can also unload and reload the scene of the removed game object to recover it.
I don't know why this works but that okay with me.

Nice trick. It seems like deselecting everything in the scene before entering play mode prevents this from happening.
