Create animation during runtime using sprites from local file?

Greetings everyone,

In my game, I am working on a character that is basically a clone of another character. The only difference is, that character can be edited and designed using a list of sprites entered by the user in a certain directory (Idle folder, running folder). So in other words, put images in each of these folders to create the animations of the character automatically to make it easily customizable by non programmers.

I am doing this in three steps: 1. Change the animation of the character using coding without changing the animation state machine (Succeeded) 2. Create animation clip during runtime from a sprite array or sprite list in script. 3. Load the sprites into a sprite array from local directory

My question is this:

  1. I found this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22682054/is-it-possible-to-create-2d-animation-at-run-time-with-unity, but I was wondering if this could work while the player is playing the game outside the editor, since Animationutility requires unity editor library

2.How do you decide which sprite renderers to assign the animation to? because my character has multiple sprite renderers

I figured out the answer for question 2, you just need to edit the editorcurve.path to the other spriterenderer
