Create Sprite with Resorces.load

Hello and thanks in advance. I have the following code:

 using UnityEngine;
 using UnityEngine.UI;
 public class cargar : MonoBehaviour
 {
          public Image imagenTest;
          void Start()
         { 
             loadResourse();
         }
        void loadResourse()
       { 
            Sprite spriteTest = Resources.Load("mocasin-azul") as Sprite;
            imagenTest.overrideSprite = spriteTest;
       }
 }

The Image is referenced from the herrarquia (It is only an image on a canvas) Now create the Resources folder and in it place the image with that name and transform it into Sprite, but the image does not change. The Sprite is None in that image Version of unity 2017.1.1.f

Do you have "resources" folder in your Assets folder?

Hi, I could solve it by changing the: Sprite spriteTest = Resources.Load("mocasin-azul") as Sprite; With :Resources.Load("mocasin-azul");

But I do not know why one works and another does not.
