Question by StevenSS85 · Nov 23, 2017 at 05:51 AM · 2d sprites

Why is 2d Sprite Sheet discolored in Editor?

Hi, I'm using a .png formatted image and I'm not sure why that after uploading it into the sprite editor it is displaying discolored blotches.

Yea sure, only the top row of the set is anywhere near complete at the moment though.

$$anonymous$$aybe it’s because your background is green. Try changing the background colour and see if whatever the colour of the background is leaches through!

I changed its background to white, it helped some but there is still discoloration in the face. The option to change the compression setting is dimmed and unselectable even when I check the "override option" box in that panel..

That's strange. Could you take a picture of your settings for the sprites?

Right, it heavily looks like compression artifacts. Seeing the import settings for the texture / sprite sheet could help

Here are the settings

Hi,

I think I've found a solution to your problem:

Answer by StevenSS85 · Nov 24, 2017 at 03:00 PM

I found a way to fix the problem, at least for the moment.under the advanced setting in the inspector I checked a box called generate mip map and made sure the sprite mode is in multiple. As for changing the meta data like suggested, I don't know how to edit or even find that data.

I really don't want to generate a mip map for every sprite sheet I upload, I can't understand why Unity is needing me to add something to a single plane image, that I can see fine otherwise.
