How do I make an object move towards Raycast origin once being hit by a raycast

I created a script for my camera and a script for an object. Im trying to make my object move towards the origin of the raycast once being hit. The scripts are not working and I get an error that my AI script is not assigned to anything and uses the default value.

The camera script using System.Collections; using System.Collections.Generic; using UnityEngine;

 public class Raycasting : MonoBehaviour {

     Ray thugRay;
     RaycastHit rayHit;
     public int dist = 20;
     private bool iAmDead = false;
     void Update()
     {
         if (iAmDead == false)
         {
             thugRay = new Ray(transform.position, transform.forward * dist);
             Debug.DrawRay(transform.position, transform.forward * dist, Color.red);

             if (Physics.Raycast(thugRay, out rayHit, 100))
             {
                 if (rayHit.transform.gameObject.tag == ("It"))
                 {
                     Debug.Log("He looked at you");
                     GameObject.Find("Control").GetComponent<Move>().enabled = false;
                     rayHit.collider.gameObject.GetComponent<RaycastingHit>().HitByRay();
                     iAmDead = true;
                 }
             }
         }
     }
 }

The AI Script

 using System.Collections;
 using System.Collections.Generic;
 using UnityEngine;

 public class RaycastingHit : MonoBehaviour
 {

     public Transform target;
     public float speed;

     RaycastHit rayHit;

     private void Start()
     {

     }

     public void HitByRay()
     {

         float step = speed * Time.deltaTime;
         transform.position = Vector3.MoveTowards(transform.position, target.position, step);

         GetComponent<AIFollow>().enabled = false;

         rayHit.transform.SendMessage("HitByRay");

     }
 }
