Import MovieTexture

English: I imported a Movie Texture but Unity Editor said, "Error reading encoded Movie (buggy encoder?)".The file is what my QuickTime installation can play. So, how should I make a correct Movie Texture? Sorry, I'm not good at English because I'm Chinese.

I'm from Slovakia, and I am good at English.. Don't hide behind your country after you slept at English classes.

Include more detail to your question, what's the format of the movie, what sample rate, what's the audio compression settings, etc Find a video that you CAN import and compare their settings and see where there's a difference. I've had that problem, the audio quality was the problem if I remember correctly.

Evil-Dog, this should be an answer, not a comment

You're right, the first part was a mere comment about adding more details to his question but I did go ahead and added more, making it more of an answer

Try converting to AVI, uncompressed if necessary. Those always import.

A solution is to "Update" QuickTime to a new version. Follow this steps If you are in Windows:

  1. Close Unity

  2. Go to the link provided by the Unity Manual/class-MovieTexture.html: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

  3. Download QuickTime (run antivirus scan)

  4. Uninstall QuickTime

  5. Install the new version as administrator

  6. Open Unity. if works then:

  7. Restart Windows 7 10 for 2 times to set the changes

  8. If do not work open Unity as administrator
