Apply a force to another object in the direction of the collision.

So I'm making a sumo style game where the goal is to knock the other player off the platform. I want to make it so that when you collide with the other player, it will apply a small force to them so that the game is more exciting. This is what I have right now but it's applying the force to the controlled player.

private void OnCollisionEnter(Collision other) { if (other.gameObject.CompareTag("Player") && Input.GetKey(KeyCode.LeftShift)) { other.rigidbody.AddForce(Vector3.forward * HitStrength); } }

I've tried a few other things but none of them are giving the desired effect.

consider trying just using transform.forward ins$$anonymous$$d of Vector3.forward, transform.forward will be facing the direction of the player, while Vector3.forward is just short for new Vector3(0, 0, 1)meaning direction independant. You can also take the oponents position, subtract the players position and normalize that:

 Vector3 direction = other.transform.position - transform.position;
 direction.Normalize();
