Question by Warleader165 · Jan 16, 2018 at 08:43 PM · instantiate-objects

How to instantiate a Gameobject that has a Rigidbody attached?

Hello, i'm fairly new to unity and i'm trying to instantiate a Gameobject that has Rigidbody attached to it but it never spawns in at the position, it'll only spawn if there is no rigidbody attached. Any help is greatly appreciated!

 using System.Collections;
 using System.Collections.Generic;
 using UnityEngine;

 public class TESTER : MonoBehaviour {

     public GameObject weapon;

     // Use this for initialization
     void Start () {
         Instantiate (weapon, transform.position, Quaternion.identity);

     }

     // Update is called once per frame
     void Update () {

     }
 }

How sure are you that the object isn't instantiating? Any object with a RigidBody will be affected by gravity by default, so if your floor doesn't have a RigidBody component and the weapon does, it's probably instantiating and immediately falling through the floor. Try pausing the game and checking the Hierarchy view to see if your weapon is there.

That was it, thank you!
